WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY WEDDING CAKE?

We advise booking your cake when you have your date and venue booked.  You can choose to 'save the date' or we can begin to design your cake right away.  (Paying £100 deposit will save your date and confirm your booking).

 

WHAT IS THE PROCESS OF ORDERING A CAKE?

We recommend that you make an initial enquiry using our contact form. For weddings, we will then make an appointment for a design consultation and cake tasting and provide a sketch and firm quote following this.  (We are more than happy to work by telephone, email or video call if you are planning your wedding from a distance).  There is no obligation to book at this point and you will be given time to consider your options.  To confirm your order, a £100 deposit is payable, with the balance being due four weeks before the event.  For events other than weddings we often work by phone and email to finalise a design and quote.  Payment is accepted as cash, bank transfer and all major cards are accepted.

 

HOW MUCH WILL MY CAKE COST?

Cakes start at £1.95 per serving.  Additional customisation, decoration and complexity of design will determine its final cost.  Each bespoke cake is quoted on an individual basis, estimates can be given if event date, venue and serving numbers are provided.  Full quotes are provided following a design consultation.

 

CAN I HAVE A DIFFERENT FLAVOUR IN EACH TIER?

Yes, you can have as many flavours as you have tiers.  All cake flavours are the same price.

 

CAN I TASTE YOUR CAKES?

On submitting an enquiry form, you will be invited to attend a design consultation and cake tasting.  Here you will taste the cakes and fillings that are of most interest to you and we will talk about your wedding plans and work on your cake design.  Tastings are £20 and the cost is deductible from your final cost if you choose to book with us.

 

Can we use your cake stands?

Cake stands can be the perfect finishing touch to any of our beautiful cakes. We have a selection of cake stands available for hire with any cake ordered from us.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO MY CONSULTATION?

Any ideas you have from your wedding can help to create the perfect design. Invitations, fabric/colour swatches, inspiration boards and images of your floral arrangements will all assist in visualising the look of your day and coordinating cake design.

 

DO YOU DELIVER OUTSIDE OF THE MIDLANDS?

Yes we do, we frequently deliver to London for large/ wedding orders.  Some items can also be couriered.


TERMS OF SALES

DEPOSIT

A deposit of £100 is required to reserve your date.  The deposit is non- refundable in any circumstance including acts of God, fire strike and/or extreme weather.

 

FINAL BALANCE

The final balance is due 30 days before the event date.  If your cake is ordered less than 30 days before your event date, the total amount is due immediately.

 

DESIGN WORK

All design work by The Sweet Stuff remains the property of The Sweet Stuff in all circumstances unless permission is sought.

 

DELIVERY & SET-UP

Delivery and setup is required for all wedding cakes.  Delivery is £30.00 within a 15 mile radius of Nottingham city centre. Additional mileage is calculated at £1.00 p/mile.

 

HIRING ITEMS

Items hired require a £50 security bond. Your security bond will be returned in full if items are returned undamaged.  Deductions will be required to replace any damage or loss. Additional monies may also be required to recover full costs of items damaged.

 

CHANGES

Any changes to your cake order will be accepted up to 30 days before the event date. After that date we cannot accept any changes.

 

CANCELLATION

In the event of cancellation, deposits will not be refunded.  Zero refund will be given with less than 30 days notice.  Cancellations must be in writing.

 

RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

Changes to agreed circumstances or other factors may result in our withdrawal of services. Non co-operation, late payments or missed appointments are examples of contributing factors.  Should The Sweet Stuff initiate the withdrawal, all fees will be returned, excluding the deposit, as well as fair market value for services provided.

 

DISCLAIMER

In the case of an emergency or an error in your delivery, please contact us so we can fix the issue immediately.  If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason, please call us immediately.  In the rare case that you are unhappy and would like a refund, you must call on the day of your event and arrange for your complete order to be returned. Without proof of the product that will not be used for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment.
