Glamorous Ivory Wedding

On a beautiful summer Sunday in September the groom waited at the top of the aisle for his bride.  Aziz looked relaxed and excited for Reema to arrive and for them to commit to each other as husband and wife.  The groom and groomsmen wore black tie tuxedos and looked stunning.  East and West came together at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club and the distance between Saudi Arabia and England had disappeared as Reema was announced into the room and their families and friends from all over the globe were present to witness this joyous occasion.  Their unique take on the guest book had everyone signing and leaving messages from the different parts of the world they were from or their heritage.

The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club is a contemporary venue with amazing panoramic views from the floor to ceiling windows looking out on to the golf course, rolling countryside and the City of Nottingham in the distance.  Touches of glamour and modernity suited this diverse couple and their style very well as well as their wedding colours - white, ivory and gold.  Reema was a very beautiful bride in her David Tutera Mon Cheri dress and Aziz in his black tuxedo.  Following their civil ceremony, the day brought together hints of the couples cultures with Saudi Arabian chocolates, sweets and tea, the scent of oud, traditional Italian sugared almonds bonbonnieres, English roses, changes to traditional Saudi Arabian dress and a legendary speech by Jordanian father of the bride; all done in spectacular style.

Reema had chosen her cake about a year ago but about a month before the wedding had a change of heart when she saw a champagne lustre cake; it was exactly what she really wanted.  The rest of the design was left in my hands but as a nod to the cake Reema had fallen in love with by Australian designer Faye Cahill I included the look of glamour and luxury with individually hand placed pearl ivory sugar pearls and sprinkles made to look like delicate beaded embroidery.  Each cake tier was a different flavour - summer fruits, chocolate cookies 'n' crème, gluten free lemon cake (supplied by Gluten Free Food Nottingham) and the newlyweds took home the red velvet top tier.

The day was captured by Craig Atkins who made the most of the beautiful natural light of the day and the decor of the venue and the grounds to take some truly stunning images.  Absolutely beautiful!
